Project Overview

A concept brand created for a university project brief, Joista is a yoga app that offers accessible, genuine resources and guidance to help ease the impact of pelvic floor issues on daily life through exercise walkthroughs and gentle reminders.

The Approach

With a general brief of a new pelvic floor app and full creative control over the brand’s outcome, Joista was designed from the ground up.

A compound brand name was created by blending ‘Joist’ for architectural flooring support, and ‘sta’ for stability to form a feminine and uplifting tone that guided the greater design. Representing the idea that small steps can lead to bigger results, Joista’s growing open circle brand mark acts to spark motivation for app users.

The Outcome

Designing example app and website screens, as well as social media templates, products and packaging, iconography and patterns saw the full picture form for Joista. The brand’s signature gradient of warm orange, light and bright pinks combined with glowy imagery to evoke radiance and empowerment.

Vibrant and bold in its style, Joista’s brand identity mirrors the energetic and transformative journey its users embark upon, reminding them of their inner power to achieve better pelvic floor health.
